Thank you for taking the time to register your player for Sacramento Alliance SC (SASC) tryouts for the 2026-27 soccer season!
The following information is provided to answer your questions. Please read the information on this page and then complete the U9-U14 or U15-U19 application to hold a tryout spot for the 2026-27 season. This does not guarantee a spot on an SASC team. Tryout registration helps us understand the number of attendees so that we can plan for a good tryout experience. Read more about what to expect below.
Starting with the 2026-2027 season, SASC is transitioning to an August 1 – July 31 school-year age grouping system. This replaces the previous Jan 1 – Dec 31 calendar year method, aligning player age groups with school grades to improve team chemistry and experience.
U9–U14 (born after 08/01/2012 through 2018) and U15–U19 (born after 08/01/2007 through 2012) have different tryout dates and times. Please review all details carefully when registering to ensure you select the correct session.
U9-U14: Monday May 11th / Tuesday May 12th / Thursday May 14th
U15-U19: Monday May 18th / Tuesday May 19th/ Thursday May 21st

COST
We do not charge a fee for tryouts, they are offered at no charge to any player interested in playing competitive soccer.
NOTIFICATION OF TRYOUT RESULTS:
Players will be notified if they have been selected by an SASC representative, so please make sure your contact information is accurate.
Please make sure you use your valid email address. We use email to send the confirmation and any updates.
ALL PLAYERS RETURNING AND NEW, must register and attend at least one tryout.
WHAT TO EXPECT
About SASC Tryouts
The object of the tryout is to collect information that will help us select the most appropriate players for the Sacramento Alliance SC teams. We recognize that tryouts can be a stressful event. We hope to take the stress out of it by using qualified trainers and keeping the sessions challenging, fun, and quick-paced. Our coaches are looking for athletic, motivated players, and understand the physical, technical, and mental attributes of kids in their age group. The club’s philosophy is to DEVELOP THE PLAYER OVER TIME. We understand that it’s OK to make mistakes.
What to Bring & Registration Check-In
Here are a few key reminders for the day of tryouts:
Check-in begins 30 minutes before tryouts at the registration table.
Tryout participants MUST NOT wear any club or league uniforms or shirts. A plain white top is preferred.
Players should wear shin guards, cleats, and bring water.
Players will be assigned a training vest which must be returned after each tryout session.
The Director Of Coaching (DOC) and trainers will call participants when the tryout session begins.
Players must join in the warm-up exercises and follow instructions for the various tryout events.
Please remain on the field until dismissed, as the SASC President will be meeting with players.
Be sure to take all your belongings with you when you leave.
What We Evaluate at Tryouts
Coaches will be evaluating:
Athletic ability: speed, quickness, endurance
Soccer skill and aptitude: ball control, passing, shooting, defending, off-the-ball play
Attitude: drive & energy, desire to play competitive soccer, teamwork, coach-ability, sportsmanship
Team Selection
SASC teams have a limited number of spots, so not every player, even very skilled ones, will be selected. Invitations are based on tryout performance and SASC evaluations. If your child is invited, you get to decide whether to join. Remember, every player gains valuable experience, and every tryout is a step forward in their soccer journey!
Notification of Results
Notification of tryout results may be sent the evening after your child’s tryout to the email provided at registration. Individual coaches and/or a SASC representative will follow up within a week with specific team assignments and details.
What if my child has already signed up for a youth soccer program?
If you have enrolled your child with the Land Park youth soccer program for this fall season, the club will refund the rec registration fees paid prior to your player being accepted to an SSA team
Should your child not make an SASC team this year, but would like to play for Land Park, Land Park will waive the late fee charges for registration with their clubs this season.
